The Dive Centre - open daily from 8am to 5pm - is located right next to the Kaena Restaurant & Aroa's Big Fish groceries store on the South-West corner (the best spot to watch the sun go down) at 'The Aroa Beach & Marine Reserve' (look out for ' The Big Fish') and offers a range of dive options from the Discover Scuba Lagoon Dive for beginners to dive trips for certified divers in the morning and afternoon outside the reef, night dives for the more adventurous and PADI Dive Courses including a 2 day certification course (ideal for those with limited time) qualifying you to dive with a professional diver, plus the Open Water Diver course, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and Dive Master.

We have 3 boats and we have 3 launch sites around the island.

Dive Boat Totara

Dive Boat I - Totara (Puffer fish)
#E5 2289 - 10 DIVERS MAXIMUM

skoma
Dive Boat II - Skoma #ZK 2071
7 DIVERS MAXIMUM

One at Avatiu at the main Harbour on the north, one at Avana Passage/Ngatangiia Habour on the east, and the other is a beach launch close to The Dive Centre at Rutaki Passage on the south - brilliant dive sites

This choice means you have short boat trips to your dive site.  It also means we take advantage of over 30 dive sites around the island and avoid the rough sea conditions on the windward side (but anyway we have an extra person on the boat for your convenience).

ramsey
Dive Boat III - Ramsey #ZK2067
5 DIVERS MAXIMUM

Conditions can change overnight here so we choose the best site on the day with customers interests and experience in mind.  Sometimes we have a choice of the whole island.  Generally the summer months brings more northerlies which means we do more diving on the south November to March for top diving in calmer conditions. We very rarely have to cancel due to the option of 3 launch spots, however if conditions are unsafe or unfavourable to dive we will let you know.
